Find out more about Garry's Mod 12 here where i go over the main things thats different about it from the recent version What is Garry's Mod?That's a stupid question, Garry's Mod is a sandbox mod for the Source Engine released by Garry Newman. Unlike normal games there aren't any predefined aims or goals. Players are given tools and are left to entertain themselves. The player is in a world where objects can be created and destroyed on demand. Where people can be created and destroyed with the click of a mouse. A world made for him. A world he made. Garry's Mod 12 is an older version of the said mod which runs on the 2007 version of the Source Engine So what do you do in this obsolete version?Basically anything you do in the recent version of Garry's Mod, it's practically the same but also isn't. It makes you feel like you are back in 2012 being a stupid little kid doing dumb shit with the kleiner model and all that good stuff. Trust me, this version is VERY good. What's different from it and the recent version?Quite alot is different about it but most of it is just technical differences of the modern Source Engine and the Source Engine from the era of the dinosaurs, so i'll give you a list down of all the stuff you should care about Spawn MenuThe Spawn Menu is a whole lot different and sports a different design and is darker(and grittier i should say...). Check out the screenshots on the right to see what it looks like!(the example is from Garry's Mod 10/11 but its similar to the 12 version) Machinima Related StuffThe face-posing in this version is quite different, the Face Poser tool is actually capped and you cant make freakish faces much on here, but thats what everyone had to deal with this version Apart from that, not much is different about making funny poses and videos using Team Fortress 2 Mercs from this to the modern version. Addon SupportThis version of Garry's Mod allows you to check out the older addons which would be broken on Garry's Mod 13 but working here, you still got the same arsenal of tools required to make contraptions, videos and screenshot sessions, though in an older form I would've linked garrysmods.org here, but last year it went down without any warning and now redirects you to the Steam Workshop, probably because the person running it ran out of funding or couldn't bother keeping the website up knowing Garry's Mod 13 exists. An archive of it exists though... somewhere(link to a OneDrive archive) Toybox? Does it mean I can finally relive my childhood of using dumb shit from the Toybox?!?Yes. Yes you can. At what time do events happen?About once a week, mostly on Thursday. For more info, please go check out the Discord server. |
